The surface of the teeth, even if thoroughly cleaned, tend to be quickly covered with a harmful film called plaque. The plaque is a deposit of organic substances, carried by saliva, on which the bacterial flora grows producing polysaccharides. The presence of bacteria and polysaccharide substances facilitates the formation of dental caries and chronic diseases of the gums and periodontal tissues. Gingivitis (characterized by redness, swelling and bleeding of the gums) and periodontitis (characterized by gingival retraction) are the most frequent cause of tooth loss. The presence of plaque and / or incorrect oral hygiene are also the cause of bad breath.

Chlorhexidine
Chlorhexidine is a substance with antibacterial activity, used for decades in the production of mouthwashes since it remains effective for a long time without causing tissue damage or delaying healing.Clinical studies indicate that, even in absence of proper oral hygiene, the chlorhexidine acts as a bactericide on the surface of the teeth, preventing the formation of plaque. The anti-plaque effect of chlorhexidine disappears 24 hours after the treatment.

Mallow
The mallow extract has an emollient activity, a local anti-irritating action, an adsorbing and refreshing action. Thanks to the natural efficacy of mallow, the inflammatory process of the gums is contrasted, the irritations of the oral cavity are effectively alleviated, avoiding the chronicization of the inflammatory state. At the same time the substances in the mallow extract absorb the secretions and neutralize the toxic substances deriving from bacterial degradation.
